First look
The Chuck 70 is Converse's upgraded take on the Chuck Taylor All Star, modelled on the 1970s version: heavyweight canvas, a varnished off-white midsole and toe cap, OrthoLite cushioning and thicker laces than the standard Chuck. The low-top comes in two near-white colourways on Converse Canada, both CA$100: White / Garnet / Egret (162065C) and Parchment / Garnet / Egret (162062C), which is a warmer off-white.
When we checked in October 2026, the White pair was sold out in most adult sizes on Converse Canada, while Parchment was in stock in nearly every size. JD Sports Canada also listed the Parchment low at CA$95. Sizing is unisex, and Converse says the Chuck 70 runs large and suggests going a half size down.
It suits casual outfits, summer dresses and anyone who wants a white sneaker under CA$100 with a vintage look. For winter, canvas is the wrong material: it is not water-resistant and shows salt and slush stains, so keep it for spring to fall. Canvas can be scrubbed by hand with mild soap, but the off-white sole will always read cream rather than bright white. Converse does not label the Chuck 70 vegan. Our picks are based on construction, materials, price and availability in Canada; hands-on Lab results are being added as each pair finishes testing.
