The Campo is Veja's leather court sneaker: a low, clean profile with the brand's V on the side and a rubber outsole that Veja says includes Amazonian rubber. The White / Natural pair on Veja's Canadian site (CP0502429) uses Veja's Organic Traced leather with leather and suede panels, a recycled polyester lining and organic cotton laces, and it is made in Brazil. Veja Canada lists it at CA$210, and Sporting Life and SSENSE carry Campos at the same price.

It suits people who want a white leather sneaker that reads a little softer than a tennis-stripe classic and works with jeans, wide trousers and dresses. Sizing on Veja's Canadian site is unisex, from W4 up to M14. If you want to avoid leather, Veja files the Campo Canvas (CA$175 on its Canadian site) under its vegan range.

For a Canadian winter, treat it as a dry-day shoe. Smooth leather wipes clean, but the suede panels on this colourway take salt and slush less gracefully. Veja's own care advice is to skip the washing machine, clean the leather with a slightly damp cloth, and reapply a waterproofing product every 3 to 6 months.
