Choose Campo
Pick the Campo if you want a flat, minimal court shoe that dresses up easily, with a slightly roomy fit; go up a size if you're between sizes.
Choose V-10
Pick the V-10 if you want a chunkier, more athletic sole, the large side V logo and a bolder casual look; go down a size if you're between sizes.
Verdict
The Campo is the easier everyday shoe for most people: its flat sole and low, clean profile work with jeans, dresses and tailoring, and some colourways use Veja's ChromeFree leather. The V-10 is the better pick if you want a sportier, chunkier sole and the visible V logo, and you mostly wear casual clothes. Fit is the other deciding factor, since Veja doesn't make half sizes and the two models fit a little differently. Lab fit and wear results for both will be added as testing finishes.
What’s the difference between the Veja Campo and V-10?
The Campo is Veja’s flat, minimal tennis shoe, launched in 2019. The V-10 is a chunkier, sportier sneaker with a more athletic sole and Veja’s large V logo on the side, created for the brand’s 10th anniversary. Both are leather shoes with Amazonian rubber in the sole, made by a brand that produces mainly in Brazil.
Our comparison is based on construction, materials, price and availability in Canada; hands-on Lab results are being added as each pair finishes testing. The current CAD price of each, with the retailer and month we checked, is shown above.
How do the design and sole compare?
The Campo sits on a completely flat sole with a classic tennis profile, so it looks clean and low. The V-10 has a chunkier, elevated, more athletic sole and the large V logo, so it reads as sportier. The Campo dresses up more easily; the V-10 suits casual outfits and people who want a bit more shoe.
| Veja Campo | Veja V-10 | |
|---|---|---|
| Launched | 2019 | For Veja’s 10th anniversary |
| Profile | Low, flat, classic tennis | Chunkier, more athletic |
| Sole | Completely flat; Amazonian and recycled rubber | Thicker, more supportive; Amazonian rubber |
| Branding | Subtler overall look | Signature V logo, sportier styling |
| Best with | Jeans, dresses, tailoring | Jeans, casual and sporty outfits |
If you want a white sneaker that goes with dresses or a casual suit, the Campo is the safer choice. If you prefer a sneaker with a little more height and presence, the V-10 delivers it without going as far as a chunky basketball shoe.
How do the materials compare?
Both use leather uppers and recycled polyester linings, with Amazonian rubber in the soles. Some Campo colourways use Veja’s ChromeFree leather, tanned in southern Brazil without heavy chrome metals, according to Veja. The V-10’s leather comes from tanneries certified LWG Gold, and it also comes in B-Mesh, made from recycled plastic bottles.
What Veja and retailers say about each:
- Campo. ChromeFree leather on some colourways and Veja’s standard leather on others, a textured leather that helps hide small marks, organic cotton laces, and a sole that mixes Amazonian and recycled rubber.
- V-10. Leather from LWG Gold-certified tanneries, or B-Mesh in some versions.
Veja says its ChromeFree process eliminates heavy chrome metals and harmful acids and cuts chemical and energy use by 40%. These are Veja’s own claims, which we haven’t verified independently. Check the product page for the exact colourway, because materials vary.
How do the Campo and V-10 fit?
Veja uses EU sizes and doesn’t make half sizes, so fit is where people go wrong. Retailers describe the Campo as true to size with a slightly wide fit, and suggest going up if you’re between sizes. They describe the V-10 as generally true to size with a roomier width, and suggest going down if you’re between sizes.
A few more fit notes:
- Break-in. Retailers report the Campo needs little or no breaking in, though the tongue can feel stiff for the first wears.
- V-10 tongue. It’s longer than average and may need tucking.
- Flat sole. The Campo’s flat sole can take some getting used to if you usually wear cushioned runners.
Measure your foot in centimetres and compare it to Veja’s size guide. Our Lab fit data, including toe-box width and weight per size, will be added as testing finishes.
How do you buy Veja in Canada?
You can order from Veja’s own store or buy from Canadian retailers that stock it. Veja’s store ships to Canada free over CA$230, with a CA$35 fee below that, but prices for non-EU orders exclude taxes, so you pay duties, taxes and fees to the carrier on delivery. Returns are accepted within 28 days, at your cost.
What that means in practice:
- Buying direct. Expect a bill from the carrier when your shoes arrive. If you refuse the parcel to avoid it, Veja may charge you the duties owed.
- Returns. Items must be new, unworn, with tags and in an undamaged box, and you pay return shipping.
- Canadian stockists. Simons lists the women’s Campo, made in Brazil, and notes that it fits small. Buying from a Canadian retailer means CAD pricing with no import bill, and usually easier returns.

How do you care for Veja sneakers?
By hand only. Veja says its sneakers should not be machine washed. Clean leather Vejas with Marseille soap, lukewarm water and a brush, let them air dry, then apply a protective leather balm. You can machine wash the laces at a low temperature. In winter, wipe off road salt the same day.
The Campo’s textured leather is more forgiving of small marks than smooth leather. For full methods, see how to clean white sneakers and our salt stain guide. For other options, the Campo is also on our master list and women’s list.
