First look
adidas introduced the Gazelle in 1966 as a training shoe, and it was the brand's first shoe made with suede, according to Wikipedia. adidas Canada sells three main versions: the standard Gazelle (CA$130), a reissue of the 1991 shoe that came in four colours, none of them white, in October 2026; the Gazelle Indoor (CA$160), based on the original indoor version, with a longer, less bulky shape and a translucent gum sole that wraps up the sides; and the Gazelle Bold (CA$160), a women's platform version on a triple-stacked gum sole.
The whitest Gazelle on adidas Canada when we checked is this Gazelle Indoor in Off White / Preloved Brown / Gum (KH9693): off-white suede with brown cracked leather stripes, eyestay and heel tab, a smooth leather tongue and the translucent gum sole. In adidas' photos the off-white reads closer to light sand than bright white, so treat it as a cream-toned shoe rather than an all-white one. It lists at CA$160 and was marked down to CA$88 on 24 October 2026; adidas Canada was the only Canadian store we found selling this colourway. Sizing is unisex from M 4 / W 5 to M 14 / W 15, and adidas says it fits true to size. The long, low shape suits slim trousers, wide-leg trousers and dresses.
In a Canadian winter, leave it at home: pale suede marks easily with salt and slush, needs a suede brush and protector spray, and can't be wiped clean like smooth leather. Keep it for dry days from spring to fall; for something easier to keep white, look at the Stan Smith. Our picks are based on construction, materials, price and availability in Canada; hands-on Lab results are being added as each pair finishes testing.
